SRINAGAR: The family of a missing Pulwama youth Thursday alleged that none from J&K or Delhi governments has extended any help to them in tracing out their missing son in Delhi.
16 year old Numan Amin Ganaie, hailing from Jandwal hamlet of Pulwama, disappeared from Azadpur area of capital on November 20.
Numan was putting up in a rented room near Azadpur Fruit Mandi Delhi. He went to did not return to his room after going to washroom during the evening of that fateful day (Nov 20), his father Muhammad Amin said on phone from New Delhi. Amin said he was roaming from pillar to post to trace his son, however nobody from civil and police administration was cooperating or helping him in this regard.
He accused Delhi police of not taking the matter seriously even after the family registered a complaint in police station at Mehindra Park Delhi. He said, Roman had arrived in Delhi with him to enjoy his holidays.
Muhammad Amin said that police did not find any clue despite checking the recording on CCTV footage. I approached CID wing of Jammu and Kashmir police in New Delhi but they are showing cold response. Police has done nothing except registering an FIR vide number 374/2013, he said.
When contacted, Investigating Officer Om Veer said that they are looking for the missing youth everywhere and hopefully, We will trace him. Police is doing its job and the family should repose faith in us, he said.
Geelani concerned
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has expressed concern over the disappearance of a Kashmiri student in New Delhi.
Numan Amin has been missing since Nov 11 but Delhi police had not even initiated the investigations, Geelani alleged.
“India is proving to be a death trap for Kashmiri youth and there is no guarantee for their safe return,” Geelani said in a press statement.
Geelani also lashed out at the state government for its “irresponsible approach in ensuring the safety of Kashmiri students.”
Despite claiming to have raised the issue with different states of India, there has been no change on the ground,” Geelani said.
He said during last year “several Kashmiri youth staying outside died under mysterious circumstances but the state authorities did not take any serious action and remained insensitive to the issue.”
Geelani said entire India is unsafe for the Kashmiri youth and they cannot live there with honor and dignity.” With inputs from CNS
