SRINAGAR: State Congress President Saif-u-Din Soz Tuesday said that Government of India will settle down all the cases of landowners of South Kashmir to whom Army owes rent charges for using their land and concreted structures from past more than two decades.
In a statement, Soz said that during a meeting with Defence Minister A.K.Antony in New Delhi, the Minister assured him that all such cases will be settled down in due course of time.
I received an assurance from the Defence Minister A. K. Antony on Tuesday that all pending cases in respect of rent payable to the land owners of South Kashmirs Anantnag district for the land under use of the Army will be settled, as early as possible as he (Minister) was looking into this matter himself, the statement reads.
