Srinagar: Family members of a Srinagar missing man staged a sit-in at Press Colony on Friday, seeking his whereabouts.
Ghulam Rasool Wani, a resident of Khushipora HMT went missing on 24th July from outside his residential area, after he ventured out of his house for a morning walk last week on 24th July and never returned back.
According to the family, Wani is a driver by profession and has not ventured out of his house for his work, due to the lockdown and Covid-19 pandemic, but was regularly going for a morning walk early and returning back home by 9 AM.
Wani’s niece Rubeena said, “ My uncle left the house on the fateful day for his routine walk between 6 and 6.15 AM and when he did not returned back till 9 AM, we got worried and started searching for him in vain till 5 PM.”
“After we failed in tracing him till the evening, we approached police and filed a missing report with the local police station”, she said.
“Police are investigating the matter and have been looking for my uncle, but so far there is no clue about where he vanished”, she added.
Rubeena said, “The family is worried and we are desperate to know about his whereabouts.”
Appealing the authorities to help them in tracing the missing person, they said that if any agency, individual or individuals have picked Wani, they should release him as he is innocent and has never indulged in any act that is subversive or annoying for anyone.
“If he has committed any mistake, we appeal that he should be released, as his family is in a bad state”, family of Wani appealed.
