SRINAGAR: The court of second additional Munsif on Tuesday extended the police remand of Mushtaq Ahmed Pier, former chairman Board of professional Entrance Examinations by four more days. Pir is main accused in Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012 paper leakage scam.
Pir was produced before the court by the Crime Branch today, sources said. Pir has already applied for bail before the special anti corruption case where arguments in support of his bail plea have been recorded.
Pir applied for bail on the plea of ill health and Crime Branchs jurisdiction of investigations.
Pirs counsel has said Crime Branch has no jurisdiction to investigate the offence under section of 5 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
However, the Crime Branch has vehemently opposed to Pirs bail plea saying that the matter was still under investigation and the Crime Branch wants to connect the missing links for which Pirs custody was important.
