BDS Batch 2012 students worst hit by CET Scam

SRINAGAR: “BOPEE- CET paper selling scam hit us the most. We were deprived from getting admissions in MBBS as we were short of one or two points. No one cares to speak for us. We were the main victims of some ones corrupt practices,” this was stated by a group of BDS students Batch 2012 on Friday.

At least, 50 students who  allegedly failed in CET conducted by BOPEE in 2012 were forced to take their admissions in Dental College Srinagar. These students claim that they were deserving admission in MBBS but due to corrupt practices adopted by then BOPEE Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Pir their hopes were dashed.

“I was shown door as I was short of one point in CET 2012. I had no option but to take admission in Dental College. What about those students who obtained CET papers illegally. I want answer from the Government in this regard,” one of the BDS students said.

Similar views were expressed by other students who presently pursue Dental Courses in BDS College Srinagar.

These students demanded that all the tainted students should be expelled with immediate effect. “We want that Crime Branch expose all the tainted students who should be immediately disqualified. What was the sin of bright and hardworking students whose career was ruined by the corrupt,” the students said.

These students claimed that the number of tainted students was above 40 but so far only 10 to 12 students have been exposed. “Not only the authorities should punish the big guns involved in this heinous crime but the Government should renew the CET 2012 list,” BDS students demanded. They asked Minister for Medical Education Taj Mohi-u-Din to explain on what grounds he is claiming that Medical Education Ministry can’t disqualify tainted students. (CNS)
