SRINAGAR: Taking strong exception to Chief Minister Omar Abdullahs speech made in Tral today, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman Hurriyat (M) and JKLF leader Mohammad Yasin Malik termed his observations a reflection of his puerile politics.
Mirwaiz said: National Conference is responsible for the prevailing mess in Jammu and Kashmir. The economic deprivation and political instability is NCs contribution to the people of Kashmir. This party has left the people at a stage where we are compelled to purchase our own resources.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman added that mainstream political parties especially National Conference has facilitated loot and plunder of the natural resources particularly water resources of Jammu and Kashmir. It is this party which allowed an open loot of our water resources which is being used to generate electricity by India. We have been left craving for few hours of electricity by this party, the Mirwaiz said.
Agreeing with the viewpoint of the Hurriyat (M) chairman, Malik said: India has snatched our natural resources especially water ad it is in that context we had raised our voice for the return of power projects which generate electricity using our waters. But we are of the firm belief that nothing will change here unless the occupation of our land ends.
The JKLF chairman said, the political mainstream particularly the NC was responsible for the poor socio-economic condition in Kashmir. At least we are not like this party which for the sake of power called Plebiscite Front politics as Sayasi Awaragardi (political wilderness). This party compromised on 22-years of freedom struggle for its lust for power, Malik said.
The JKLF chairman added that there is an institutional corruption in Jammu and Kashmir and the political mainstream especially NC is responsible for it. (KNS)
