Yasin Malik Urges Shia-Sunni Unity

SRINAGAR: Islam, as in past, can still lead the whole world if Muslims unite and become one body, JKLF chairman told a Muharram gathering in Ashai Bagh area of Srinagar today. We all believe in one Allah, his last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (SAW), one Quran and one Qibla and should keep aside our small differences and become one Ummah, Malik said.

Malik said that as in past we all have come here to show solidarity with our Shia brethren. He said that enemies of Muslims and Islam are hell bent upon dividing the Muslims in the name of caste and creed. These people want to see us fighting on small differences so that we never emerge as one nation and Ummah. Yasin said that we are here to strengthen the bond of friendship, brotherhood and oneness among the Muslims so that evil designs of those who want to divide us are defeated.

Malik said that the family and companions of our prophet SAW are dear to all Muslims and we all respect them. No Muslim can ever part ways from the agony and grief of what happened in Karbala.

He said that Imam Hussein belongs to all of us so does his sacrifice for Islam; therefore we all should united defeat those who try to divide us. Yasin sahib said that Karbala teaches us to remain steadfast for truth and justice and always support those who are oppressed. We all should adhere to this Hussaini principle. According to JKLF statement, he said that Kashmiris are too fighting for a just cause and those who believe in Hussainiat will always remain with this just cause. Yasin Malik and delegation also participated in the procession of Azadari (mourning) as a show of solidarity and unity.
