SRINAGAR: A local court today issued non-bailable arrest warrant against Director (News) of Radio Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Malik in a defamation case filed against him by a news anchor.
The Judge, Rajeev Gupta after hearing the counsel for complainant, Advocate Syed Rayaz Khawar issued non-bailable arrest warrant against the accused in the case filed against him under section 500 and 506 RPC.
The case of defamation was filed against Bashir Ahmad Malik formerly Director, News, Dooradshan Srinagar (He is now Director News Radio Kashmir) by news anchor Ghulam Mohammad Parrey (Shabnum Vijpari) in 2011.
The complainant approached the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu with a complaint under Section 500 and 506 RPC against Malik who had levelled serious allegations against him in a letter sent to Parsar Bharti Corporation of India.
Challenging the Order of CJM Bashir Ahmad Malik had filed a review petition before court of Principal District Judge Srinagar for quashment of complaint before CJM Srinagar. The Court after hearing both sides dismissed the review petition and directed accused to appear before trial court but Malik failed to appear before the court.
