Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 144 more Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 7,237, officials said.
“144 new Covid-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 99 of them are from Kashmir, 45 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 29 cases were reported from Pulwama followed by 18 from Shopian, 17 from Srinagar, 15 from Anantnag,13 from Kathua, 10 from Baramulla, eight from Samba, seven from Rajouri, five from Reasi, four from Budgam, three each from Jammu, Udhampur & Doda, two each from Bandipora, Kupwara & Poonch and one each from Kulgam, Ganderbal & Ramban, they said.
According to officials, 269 more patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.
The cases detected on Monday included 53 people who had returned to J&K recently.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 7,237 out of which 5,658 are in Kashmir, while 1,579 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 2,557 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 2,125 in Kashmir and 432 in Jammu — and 4,585 (3,449 from Kashmir and 1,136 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 96 (85 from Kashmir, 11 from Jammu) Covid-19 deaths so far.
