SRINAGAR- A family in Bandipora has accused a doctor at District Hospital Bandipora for not attending their patient for hours whose condition later worsened.
A-28-year old pregnant lady of Mangipora area of Bandipora was brought to District Hospital Bandipora at 12:30 pm on Sunday for the check up.
“But the doctor available there did not see her for 90 minutes. The doctor told us that another doctor will see her. Later the doctor told gatekeeper to see her,” alleged a family member.
After hours of wait, another doctor after seeing the pregnant lady referred her to LD Hospital Srinagar. “We were made to wait for hours as the doctor did not attend here till her condition worsened. Her condition is now critical at LD Hospital Srinagar,” the family said.
Medical Superintendent at Bandipora Hospital Bashir Ahmad when contacted said that “he will look into the matter. He said If the doctor will be found guilty, then action will be taken.”
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Bashir Ahmad Tak said the family should lodge a complaint and they will then investigate if there is any negligence on part of the doctor.
Meanwhile concern female doctor termed family allegation as baseless and said “this is a routine work nowadays to attack on health sector. She said the patient was attended as per protocol and then was referred to my colleague doctor to Srinagar medical institute.” (KINS)
