Srinagar: 148 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 6,236, officials said.
“148 new Covid-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 128 of them are from Kashmir, 20 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 45 cases were reported from Pulwama, 28 from Srinagar, 16 each from Kulgam & Baramulla, seven from Kupwara, six from Anantnag, five each from Bandipora, Ganderbal, Ramban & Kathua, three from Reasi, two each from Doda, Udhampur & Samba and one from Jammu, they said.
They said that 111 more patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 6,236 out of which 4,840 are in Kashmir, while 1,396 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 2,507 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 1,994 in Kashmir and 513 in Jammu — and 3,642 (2,769 from Kashmir and 873 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 87 Covid-19 (77 from Kashmir, 10 from Jammu) deaths so far.
