SRINAGAR: Reiterating his demand for the arrest of BSF personnel involved in alleged desecration of holy Quran and death of protesters in Gool town, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani today lashed out at state administration for arresting administrator of a religious school and his brother in the case.
Rejecting the police version, Geelani said that the statement alleging the involvement of two brothers in desecration of Holy Quran was a brazen lie.
Calling for state wide protest demonstrations after Friday prayers on October 25, Geelani stressed and reiterated his demanded for the arrest of BSF personnel involved in civilian killings.
Rejecting the Police Special Investigation Team’s statement wherein they have claimed that they with the help of modern scientific technology have helped arrest two brothers for hatching conspiracy, Geelani said that till now such scientific devices have not been produced and if at all there was any such device then why those killers involved in the killing of four civilians are yet to apprehended. What is the cause of confusion regarding the culprits and which among the two statements of police or BSF was reliable.
Putting the question mark on government sponsored inquiries Syed Ali Geelani said that we are well aware about all these teams and added that we had stated that announcement about the investigations was nothing but a move to calm public anger and give benefit of doubt to those involved in such killings and frame innocents in fabricated charges.
Syed Ali Geelani asked how justice can be expected from those who perpetrated and designed all these innocent killings. Syed Ali Geelani while referring to Markundal and Shopian massacre said that no doubt they have formulated the investigating teams; however no justice will be done with the families of those killed in such incidents.
