Srinagar- Sixty seven more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 4,574, officials said.
“67 new COVID-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 43 of them are from Kashmir, 24 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 13 were reported from Anantnag, 11 from Jammu, nine from Pulwama, eight from Srinagar, six from Poonch, four from Bandipora, three each from Budgam, Udhampur & Doda, two each from Baramulla & Kulgam and one each from Kupwara, Ganderbal & Rajouri, they said.
They said that 149 patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 4,574 out of which 3,565 are in Kashmir, while 1,009 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 2,702 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in J&K — 1,996 in Kashmir and 706 in Jammu — and 1,820 (1,522 from Kashmir and 298 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 52 COVID-19 deaths so far (47 from Kashmir, 5 from Jammu), including the one that took place on Thursday.
