Kupwara- The Forest department of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday seized Illegal Bandsaw deployed for crushing illicit timber at Manigah area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to a statement, the Officials of Kamraj Forest Division raided house of Mohammad Ashraf Khan resident of Manigah Kupwara and seized illegal bandsaw from his house where it was deployed to crush illicit timber.
“An information regarding illegal deployment of Bandsaw/Plannar was received by DFO Kamraj Forest Division Zahid Moghul who organized raid to suspected place taking assistance from Deputy Director Forest Protection Force Sarwar Shah. During search operation, illegal bandsaw was found functional in the house of Mohammad Ashraf Khan which was seized onspot along with illicit timber deodar 9.1cft,” the statement reads.
Forest department has registered FIR against this forest offence in Kupwara Police Station and further investigations have been taken up by the Police.
