DODA: Additional Sessions Judge Doda Tuesday directed SSP, Vigilance Organization Jammu to submit the status report in the multi-crore Ganpat Bridge, Pul Doda Scam registered against eight persons, including a senior IAS officer and several top government officials.
The application was filed by an RTI activist seeking a direction to the SSP VOJ to submit a status report in the scam registered under FIR 15/2011 against eight persons including Dilip Thusu, the then General Manager J&K Project Construction Corporation Limited (JKPCC) and at present Secretary J&K State Sports Council.
Judge K.S.Parihar also directed the court to monitor the investigation of the said scam till the filing of the challan against the accused.
In the application, the complainant has submitted that the accused are highly influential and politically well connected and are generating pressure upon SVO Jammu to close the case.
It is further submitted that despite the expiry of more than 2 years there is no headway in the investigation as the accused are trying to derail the investigation process so that they are screened of the allegations.
The complainant has submitted that the accused indulged in corruption and abuse of their official positions and awarded contract to a contractor M/S A.K. Constructions without observing the codal formalities.
The complainant alleged that Dilip Thussu, the then General Manager JKPCC played a vital role in this multi-crore scam and he is highly influential and occupying a responsible position in JKPCC and is generating huge pressure for getting a clean chit in the matter.
It is further submitted that in order to ensure the fairness in the investigation and to instil confidence of the people in the rule of law the investigation of this scam needs to be monitored till the charge sheet is filed in the competent court of law.
After hearing the case advocate Imtiyaz Hashmi, appearing for the complainant, the Additional Sessions Judge Doda, K.S.Parihar directed SSP VOJ to submit the status report of the investigation on or before the next date of hearing that is Oct 31.
Pertinently, in Ganpat Bridge, Pul Doda Scam FIR stands lodged against 8 accused which includes the then General Manager JKPCC, Muhammad Subhan Najar MD JKPCC, Nazir Ahmed Shah Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, M.M.Sharma Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, V.K.Sharma DGM JKPCC limited, S.K.Sethi DGM JKPCC limited, Gopal Sharma Assistant Engineer JKPCC limited and Anil Kumar Sharma proprietor M/S A.K Constructions limited.
