SRINAGAR: Police today foiled an attempt of unidentified youth who tried to snatch the service rifle of an armed police personal in Pulwama district. Police further claimed to have recovered CRPFs earlier snatched rifle.
Police sources said that unknown persons tried to snatch the rifles of a policeman deployed near the residential houses at Tral. Police in the retaliation fired some bullets in air due to which the unidentified persons escaped from the scene. They left behind the rifle and when identified it was the same rifle that was earlier snatched by some persons from a CRPF jawan at Tral Bala, he said.
Police and Rashtriya Rifles have cordoned the area and has stared the massive operations. Police sources confirm that the persons involved in snatching the rifles from Police and CRPF are in the area.
