SRINAGAR: Sessions court Shopian Tuesday convicted three accused, including a father son duo, for murdering a person inside a mosque in 2007.
The court of Principle Sessions Judge Shopian convicted three accused Rashid Wani son of Ahsan Wani, Sajad Ahmad Wani son of Rashid Wani both residents of Heerpora, Shopian and Rafiq Takad son of Juma Takad resident of Rajouri for murdering Yaseen Wani son of Habibullah Wani resident of Heerpora, Shopian in 2007.
The prosecution put up a strong case against the three accused who had allegedly assaulted the victim when he was offering Isha Azaan in a local Masjid on 1st June 2007. The court heard the prosecution and the defense in the murder case (FIR number 92/2007) under section 302, 34 RPC of police station Shopian today. The prosecution succeeded in bringing home the charge of 302 against all three accused who have been convicted by Session Court Shopian, a police spokesman said.
The argument for the verdict has been scheduled on next Thursday on 10/10/2013.
