SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik was not allowed to visit Nepal where he intended to meet his family who have been denied visa for travelling home in Kashmir. Malik said such actions from the government cannot deter him from struggling for the just cause.
Addressing a press conference here, Malik said: Such kinds of tyrannical measures cannot deter us from pursuing our struggle for freedom. By denying a father to meet her child, India has actually shown its narrow mindedness, political bankruptcy and uncivilized attitude.
The JKLF chairman said he was forced to leave New Delhi international airport.
Earlier Malik said he intended to visit Nepal to see his little daughter as she and her mother Mushaal were not able to travel to Srinagar for want of Indian visa. They have not been given travel clearance and both sides were travelling to Nepal, as no visa is required for that, to meet each other.
Yasin sahib who had already completed all the required formalities for travelling to Nepal arrived at Delhi airport early in the morning. Soon immigration officers arrived and told Yasin sahib that he was not allowed to go to Nepal. After this refusal Yasin sahib straightaway returned to Srinagar, a JKLF spokesman said.
Upon arrival here Malik addressed a press conference. He said after his return from Pakistan last year his passport was confiscated and has not been given back till date. On the other hand my family, including my innocent child approached Indian high commission in Islamabad for visa. This application is lying there for nine months and applicants have yet to get any response, Malik said.
Malik said, My wife Mushaal and daughter Razia have completed all formalities in this regard and have number of times approached Indian high commission but have neither been given visas nor has there been any reply.
JKLF leader said that the Congress government in the country was virtually working on the fanatic ideology but wrongly projects Gandhi as its ideologue. Malik further mentioned that his family was being denied visa from the last 19 months and he is not allowed to live with him. It is the basic right of my wife and daughter to be here but authorities have flouted all moral and ethical norms by preventing my family from coming here.
