Jammu: Speeding up its evacuation process, the Jammu and Kashmir administration Saturday said that special trains will ferry residents of the Union Territory stranded in other parts of the country from Sunday.
The administration has arranged trains for the J&K residents stranded in Karnataka and Gujarat from tomorrow, an official spokesperson said.
Those stranded in Karnataka can board the train at Tripura Vasini White Petals, Gate number 2, palace Grounds Bellary Road Armane Nagar Bengaluru from 2pm to 5pm. The administration has also released phone numbers to help the stranded residents.
“For any facilitation, the people can Whatsapp at 9480800601 or call at 01912466988,” the official spokesperson said.
Similarly, those who have been stranded in Gujarat have to register themselves on Gujarat government’s portal digitalgujarat.gov.in for their return to J&K. The registration for the only train from Gujarat to J&K will be done at 3pm Sunday.
For the stranded persons in Andhra Pardesh and Telengana, the government would soon schedule a train for J&K, the official spokesperson said.
He urged the stranded people to wait for further information and not to move on foot or in an unauthorized manner.
