Budgam – Terming road connectivity as key to socio-economic emancipation, the MLA Khan Sahib and President PDF, Hakeem Mohammad Yasin today enjoined upon the Government to lay special focus on backward and hitherto in accessible remote areas.
Addressing a public gathering, after laying foundation stone of Rs 8 cr. bridge at Dragar-Kachwari in central district, Budgam, Hakeen Yasin said better road connectivity plays a pivotal role in removing poverty and backwardness.
The bridge has much importance as it will connect a major chunk of population comprising Tehsils of Chrar-i-Sharif, Chadoora, Khan Sahib and Beerwa, thus opening a new vista of development and progress in the entire district. He also announced Rs 30 lakhs out of his CDF for different development works in Kachwari area.
Mr. Yasin also sought execution of plan for Kachwari expeditiously, which has been declared as Tourist village. He also urged the Government to undertake improvement and upgradation of power transmission system in the area which he said is facing acute shortage of power. He demanded execution of works on proposed mini-hydle power project at Shaliganga expeditiously, which has already been tendered.
He assured the people that their all genuine demands will be fulfilled in a phased manner and advised them to be united to fight for their genuine cause and right.
Saying that peace was imperative for speedy development of the State, Mr. Yasin hoped that ongoing dialogue between India and Pakistan will also focus on resolution of Kashmir issue.
