Srinagar – Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is currently in Geneva to attend the 21st International Human Rights Conference on Tuesday, inaugurated UN Week on Kashmir at United Nations headquarters to discuss the subject Kashmir seeks self determination.
On the occasion a military camp has been erected outside the UN office to represent the army occupation in Jammu and Kashmir. Mirwaiz also visited a photo exhibition depicting torture, human rights violation due to black laws, suppression and harassment, arbitrary arrests and imprisonment of Kashmiris and use of tyrannical force on peaceful pro-freedom protests and curbs laid on religious freedom.
Its pertinent to mention that during the UN week, symposiums, seminars, and photo exhibition is held to divert the attention of international community towards the Kashmir issue and its fallout on the common kashmiris.
