Srinagar: Liberation Front chairman Mohammed Yasin Malik who was arrested at Lal Chowk day before while leading a protest against Shupian massacre, arrests, curfew politics and other oppressive measures was shifted to his residence from police station last night and placed under house arrest. Large contingent of police has been deployed at his residence and he has been confined to his single room.
JKLF spokesman while condemning this arrest and house arrest has said that these oppressive measures and reign of terror clearly shows the level of frustration of Indian rulers and their Kashmiri puppets. These illegal, undemocratic and uncivilized measures have become the order of day and cannot be termed but as dictatorial and undemocratic.
Meanwhile JKLF expressed its shock and grief over the mysterious death of an elderly resistance leader of peoples league Abdul Rashid Gazi. Terming deceased Gazzi sahib as a gentle and humble soul, JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik said that his dedication and struggle will always be remembered. Yasin sahib while praying for his heavenly abode also prayed for the bereaved family.
