SRINAGAR: National Conference today termed the protest march taken out by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti against Shopian killings as a tamasha in order to gain sympathies from people in general and separatist leaders in particular.
Mehbooba Mufti is favouring separatist leaders to gain their sympathies. She is playing a game to grab the power. She is acting as an irresponsible opposition leader and is distorting facts, said National Conference leader Ali Muhammad Sagar.
He said there may be lapses and deficiencies on part of the government but to claim that present government has failed on all fronts was not correct. We admit that Tufail Matoo, Wamiq Farooq, Zahid Farooq killings were unwarranted and innocent killings and we have taken action against the guilty. We filed a case against BSF commandant for killing youth at Nishat. Omar Abdullah soon after Shopian incident sought report from Director General Police and do you think he (CM) was silent on the killings, Sagar said.
He said that it is PDP, which is responsible for the bloodshed in Kashmir. Did Mehbooba forget that it was his father who invoked AFSPA in Kashmir. It is on record that after every innocent killing our government initiated action against the guilty cops. We shifted Bomai Camp in Sopore after Army personnel killed two innocent youth there. We removed bunkers from the city and evacuated CRPF and BSF from dozens of hotels and government buildings, he said that adding that before raising finger on us, Mehbooba should look at past and introspect what her party did to Kashmiri people.
Sagar said that PDP is enacting drama by coming on roads. This party is desperate to grab the power but people of Kashmir would never repose faith in them, he said. (CNS)
