Constitutes Adhoc committee for framing the constitution
SRINAGAR: An extraordinary meeting of the Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) was held in Srinagar on Thursday in which the issues confronting the media fraternity in Kashmir were discussed threadbare.
It was felt that the guild should be rejuvenated and efforts should be made to give a proper shape to it in order to effectively strive for safeguarding the interests of media in Kashmir. Many steps to be taken in this direction were discussed and an adhoc committee for restructuring the guild and increasing its membership was formed.
Manzoor Anjum, Shujaat Bukhari, Ghulam Jeelani Qadri and Shafat Kira were nominated as members of the committee of the guild vis-à-vis framing of constitution of the guild keeping in view the concerns and interests of the media fraternity in mind. It was decided that the elections of the office bearers shall be held by the end of this month.
The representatives of various newspapers including Kashmir Vision, Rising Kashmir, Buland Kashmir, Uqab, Chattan, Kashmir Images, Nidai-Mashriq, Kashmir Reader, Kashmir Observer, Afaaq, Aftab, Srinagar Times, Kashmir Monitor and Kashmir News Service, Editor, M Aslam participated in the meeting.
