No JK player in North Zone Team: Kesar
Srinagar – Food Corporation of India (FCI) would organize its 42nd Inter Zonal football tournament here in Srinagar.
Area Manager FCI, Amit Kesar while addressing a press conference here on Monday said that the tournament will commence on September 20 and will conclude September 24 .The objective of holding the tournament in the Valley is to promote the football here, he said.
He further said total six teams were going to participate in the tournament. Nine matches will be played in the tournament at Polo Ground and Bakhshi Stadium, he said.
He said the tournament was being organised in the JK after 15 years. It was held in Jammu in 1997. It will be good to watch players from all across the India, playing here are visiting here. Due to the disturbed environment, FCI was not able to held tournaments here, he said.
He said FCI was looking forward to recruit players from the state in future. FCI dont have state teams in India, but we should get maximum players from JK. For now, there is no player from JK representing the north zone , he said.
