KARGIL: In collaboration with Jawahar Institute Mountaineering and Winter Sports, the Tourism Department Kargil organized seven days Rock Climbing, River Rafting and Para Gliding Courses from August 23 to 31, 2013.
The training programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC, Kargil, Mr. Fida Hussain on August 24, 2013. The District Superintendent of Police Kargil, Chief Executive Officer Kargil Development Authority and several District Officers, local people and media persons were present on the inaugural function.
Speaking on the concluding day, the Deputy Commissioner and District Superintendent of Police Kargil appreciated the efforts made by the Tourism Department and Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering for conducting such training camps.
More than 40 trainees from different places of the district participated in the training camps and successfully completed basic training in Rock Climbing, River Rafting and Para Gliding.
The course was organized for promotion of Adventure Tourism in the district for local youth of the district free of charges.
