Srinagar Trounces Kathua by 11 Goals

SRINAGAR: Srinagar defeated Kathua district by 11 goals to nill in the state level Inter-District Football tourney of U/19 boys here today.

Various matches were played today in different play fields across Srinagar city. The tournament is organized by J&K Youth Services & Sports. The 13 district level teams from across of the state are participating in the tournament.

Matches were played between Budgam and Ganderbal at Bakshi Statduim in which Budgam, won by 2 – 0. At the same venue another match was played between the teams of Poonch and Budgam, where in Budgam won the match by 2 -0

Meanwhile, at University of Kashmir, Srinagar, the first match was played between Doda and Udampur, where Udampur won the game by 6 -0

In the same venue, another match was played between Bandipur district team and Jammu district team, which resulted in draw. The score was 0 – 0.

At Polo ground, Kuthua lost the match against the Srinagar by 11– 0. Taufeeq scored three connective goals for his team. At the same ground, another match was played between Baramullah and Anantnag, where the latter won the game by 2 – 0.

In an another tough fight between Udampur team and Srinagar team, where Srinagar won the game by 8 – 0

J&K Youth Services & Sports – the prime department of conducting various field and track sporting events besides organizing various tournaments in different games for the school children of the state organizing the state level Inter-District Football tourney of U/19 boys. The final match of the tournament will be played on 29 August.
