Srinagar: Two persons were killed, and at least 34 others, including 13 students were injured in separate road mishaps across Kashmir Valley in last 24 hours.
13 minor students were injured when a Beacon tipper bearing registration number (JK09-8926) hit a Vision Public School Bus bearing registration Number JK09-1351 near Ziyarat Sharief Khumriyal in Kupwara district.
All the injured students were shifted to District Hospital Kupwara while as Qashif Fayaz son of Fayaz Ahmad Ganie of Kalaroos was later referred to SKIMS Soura for treatment. However, Qashif, a class 2nd student succumbed to his injuries late in the evening, police said.
In another accident, 22 passengers were injured after a Kupwara-Srinagar Non-Stop bus bearing registration number JK03-3288 overturned near army camp at Watayen area of Handwara.
All the injured were rushed to Sub District hospital, Handwara for treatment, the official said, adding the condition of three persons was stated to be critical.
Similarly, a pedestrian Ishtiaq Hussain Dar resident of Ichgam who was injured when a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04/7232 hit him at Ichgam, Budgam on 24.08.2013 died of wounds. He was undergoing treatment at SKIMS, Soura, where he succumbed to his injuries last night. A case already stands registered in this regard.
In another accident, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14/8056 hit and injured Arshid Ahmad Mir age 6-year-old son of Mohammad Ishaq resident of YK Pora, Kulgam, in the jurisdiction of police station Qazigund. The injured has been shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
