SRINAGAR: Indian and Pakistani troops opened fire at each other again Saturday along the Line of Control (LoC). The firing was more intense in Rajouri sector, defence spokesman said.
Pakistani soldiers opened unprovoked fire on Indian army posts in Rajouri district, a defence spokesman said adding the firing was retaliated with equal fire power.
Pakistani troops opened fire at posts in Trikundi Gali area of Rajouri in the Jammu region at around 8.30 p.m., a defence spokesman said. Indian troops returned the fire and the exchange of fire was still going at around 9.30 p.m.
The incident came after two sides exchanged heavy fire on Wednesday and Thursday on the LoC in Poonch district.
The bilateral ceasefire that came into force between India and Pakistan in November 2003 had brought in a modicum of normalcy in the lives of thousands of people living along the borders in divided Kashmir in Indian and Pakistan administered parts.
