Srinagar, Sept 17: – The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Legislative Assembly headed by its chairman Mr. Rafi Ahmed Mir stressed upon the concerned authorities to formulate Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for Sukh Sarai and Ali Abad Sarai situated at Mughal Road so that these two spots can be developed as tourist destinations. The Committee observed that these destinations will help to boost the economy of the Tourism and economy of the area.
The Committee which was on tour today concluded 2 days visit to Rajouri and Poonch and took stock of works under execution in these districts under Roads and Building sector.
The Committee members Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani, Mrs. Bimla Luthra, Syed Basharat Bhukhari, Mrs. Indu Pawar, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain and Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali were part of the Committee.
During the tour, the panel visited Ziyarat Sharif Hazrat Ahmad Karim(RA) and Shadra Sharif and paid obeisance and prayed for the betterment and welfare of the people of the State.
Enroute several deputations met the PAC and apprised it about their individual and collective problems. These included construction of link roads and protection bunds. The Panel heard them patiently and assured them that their genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned quarters.
Among others Commissioner Secretary PWD, Mrs. Tanveer Jehan, District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Mr. A. K. Sahu, District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mr. Saugat Biswas, Chief Engineers of PMGSY, R&B, Mughal Road, and other senior officers of various departments besides Assembly Secretariat accompanied the panel during their visit.
