Srinagar – The Divisional Administration has named the road from Eidgah to Hawal Chowk as Ali Mardan Khan Road.
Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon has recommended that the road should be named after the great Governor and builder of Kashmir, Ali Mardan Khan. Ali Masjid, an architectural marvel built by the 16th century noble is situated on tail end of the road, was recently renovated and is now a major place of worship in the area.
