SRINAGAR: Putting an end to speculations about the extension in summer vacations, the government on Wednesday said all the schools in Kashmir Valley will reopen after 10-day break on Thursday.
Summer vacations are over and schools will reopen tomorrow (Thursday), Education Minster Tara Chand said.
Government is not going to extend summer vacations as students have already lost a lot of time due to strikes during this year, he added.
Sources said that Director School Education, Mir Tariq, had sent a proposal to the government for the extension of summer vacations by this weekend but has been rejected by the Education Minster.
The government announced summer vacations in all institutions including recognized private schools up to higher secondary level in Kashmir Division from July 15 to July 24.
