GUREZ: Army Friday claimed that it foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Gurez sector and killed a militant in the operation.
Giving details General Officer Commanding 28 Division, Lalit Pandey said that army sighted a group of three to four heavily armed militants who were trying to sneak into Gurez sector near Nani Post in the wee hours of Friday.
When Army challenged these militants they fired upon Army men indiscriminately and in retaliatory fire one militant was killed. The identity of the deceased could not been ascertained, he said.
