Srinagar: Living up to his reputation, independent MLA from Langate Er Rasheed Monday broke open the locks of two CAPD stores and allowed villagers to take the much needed grains.
According to the reports, inhabitants of border areas of Pothwara, Reshwari and adjoining hamlets hailing from Langate constituency were without food grains for last three weeks. Though the concerned MLA had brought the matter in the notice of concerned Minister and higher authorities but it couldnt resolve the problem of inhabitants. However, the Department had sent some quantity of rice to the said stores some five days back but was not being distributed among the consumers for some unknown reasons.
Taking note of the sufferings of the villagers MLA made a sudden appearance there today at 10:30 a.m and broke open the locks of the two stores in presence of village Panchayat.
MLA sat through the day replacing Ghat Munshi and distributed the available ration to consumers.
In a statement Er Rashid alleged that State government has miserably failed and nobody cares about problems of common masses. He said that since there are three cabinet ministers hailing from Kupwara, who often make useless visits to their constituencies for petty vote bank politics and in turn keep the district administration hostage resulting in the suffering of the people.
He, however, said that AIP will not allow these white collar VIPs including Mantaries and Babus to suck the blood of those whom they rule and will do what so ever it can to provide basic amenities to those who are being humiliated without any reason.
