Srinagar: Three persons were killed in separate road mishaps while a boy died under tree in Kashmir Valley, police said Friday.
A police spokesman here said that a motorcycle (JK01M-3328) rammed into an electric poll at Bandipora, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist, Ghulam Mohiudin Ganie son of Abdul Rashid of Ganistan in the north Kashmir district. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura here where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.
In another accident, he said, a load carrier (JK04A-4273) hit and injured Ghulam Mustafa Rather son of Baqir Rather at his native AgroKalan, Magam area in central Kashmir. Rather was also shifted to SKIMS Soura, where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.
Separately, a Tipper (JK04B-7040) hit a pedestrian Ghulam Hassan Lone of Lathishah Sopore at Railway Bridge Humhama in the Budgam district, resulting in his on spot death, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, a 5-year-old boy was killed and three other members of the family when a tree fell on a kothar in north Kashmirs Kupwara district.
The mishap occurred at Ring Payeen in Machil area, resulting into on spot death of boy Shahid Ahmad Tantary son of Irshad Ahmad. Three others, who were injured in the incident, have been hospitalized at Sub District Hospital, Kupwara, he added, according to KNS.
Elsewhere, a 28-year-old man identified Reyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar of Trigam, Shadipora drowned in a power canal near Rayil Gund in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, the spokesman added.
