Billawar – General Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thakur Balbir Singh today demanded adequate compensation for those families whose cattle were killed by leopards recently in Billawar and adjoining localities.
Addressing a meeting of party workers at Billawar, Singh said that during the past one month leapords have killed more than 400 cattle in different areas of Billawar but no compensation has been given to the affected families. He said that some families were totally depend upon cattle so there was need to provide them compensation. He said that killing of cattle by leopards has become a big problem for the poor people. He asked authorities of the wild life department to take some step to check entry of leapord in the populated areas. Singh also demanded adequat exgratia for the family who had lost four person due to house collopse one month back.
Singh also flayed the National Conference led coalition regime for its failure to implement the Central sponsored schemes and properly utilized the funds sanctioned by the Centre. Agencies
