Srinagar: Accusing the authorities of turning his home into a prison, Democratic Freedom Party chairman, Shabir Ahmed Shah today expressed his heartfelt greetings to the members of Sikh community on the eve of 418th anniversary of Guru Gobind Singhji.
In a statement issued here, a DFP spokesman said the party chairman has expressed his satisfaction over the cordial relationship between members of Sikh community and mulsims living in Kashmir. Its not that this relationship is strong in Kashmir only but in other parts of India as well, he said. Sikh leaders have always supported Kashmir cause and played their part in resolving the issue. Shah sahib expresses his felicitations to members of Sikh community on the eve of 418th anniversary.
He accused the authorities of turning Shahs home into a fortress by deploying heavy contingent of police vehicles, policemen and CRPF men outside his residence. Unfortunately, Shah sahib was put behind the bars or either put under house arrest for 13 months and six days over the past two-and-a half years. With the result, he couldnt offer 14 Friday congregational prayers in the Masjid, the spokesman said. Such oppressive measures wont deter his resolve to fight for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
