His Work Should Act as Guiding Force For Kashmiri writers- BA Kirmani
SRINAGAR Remembering noted poet, writer and social reformist, Prof Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni as “Symbol of Inspiration” for all the upcoming Kashmiri writers, speakers here on Sunday said that the Prof Hajni volunteered to take up the literary and political cause of Kashmiris and endured tremendous hardships.
Speaking on the occasion, noted jurist and former Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Bashir Ahmad Kirmani said that Prof Hajni was a man of principals who devoted his life to the literature and took up literary and political cause of Kashmiris by facing tremendous hardships.
Prof Hajnis indeed was a great man. His life should serve as inspiration to the poets and writers of present day, he said.
To pay tributes to the legendary legendary litterateur and social reformer of Kashmir, Prof Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni, Halqa-e-Adab Hajin, Sonwari, a constituent of Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) today observed Prof Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni Day at Govt Higher Secondary School Hajin.
Noted jurist Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani was chief guest of the literary event. Discourses of Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni, a collection of papers and prose writings of Prof Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni, compiled by Dr Amin Fayaz and,
Thaer Aangnech Kashmiri poetry collection of Sagar Nazir were released on the occasion. Annual award of Halqa-e-Adab Hajin, Khilat-e-Hajni was conferred on noted poet and researcher of Pirpanchal region Shahbaz Rajourvi. The prizes of the Husn-e-Nat competition and symposium held recently were also given away.
Kirmani also proposed to name the local government Higher Secondary School after Late Hajnis name.
In his welcome address, President, Adbee Markaz Kamraz, AMK, Dr Aziz Hajni said that despite mastering the English and Persian languages, Prof Hajni consciously dedicated his life and literary career for the cause of Kashmiri language.
Saying that Kashmiri language and civilisation is face to face with numerous challenges, Dr Hajni said the need of the hour is to re-discover the heroes of Kashmiri language and literature like those of Prof Mohi-Ud-Din Hajni. Earlier, Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan President of Halqa-e Adab Hajin presented a review of the literary activities of his organisation. He informed that numerous books of Late Hajni have been re-printed while as many new books comprising his writings have been compiled Others who paid tributes to Late Hajni include Dr Rafeeq Masoodi, Farooq Nazki, Ghulam Nabi Gouhar, Shahbaz Rajourvi, Muhammad Amin Bhat and Moulana Sameer Sadiqi. A Mehfil-e-Mushaira was part of the function which was presided by Bashir Arif, Deputy Director General of Radio Kashmir Srinagar.
