Srinagar: While strongly condemning the arrest of its leaders, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) today said putting a ban on the movement of the resistance leaders has once again proved that the rulers were scared of the popularity of pro-freedom leaders.
Government is scared of the popularity of the pro-freedom leaders and that is why we see the so called rulers getting panicky, said a JKLF spokesman adding, Our leaders were arrested today when they were on their way to Puchal Pulwama to address a public rally and to express their condolences to the bereaved families of the four boys who died in an accident near Pahalgam recently.
Among the arrested leaders were Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Mohammad Sideeq Shah, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others.
The spokesman said the police had laid a siege at Kakapora and stopped JKLF caravan at the bridge and arrested the leaders. The arrested have been kept at Kakapora Police Station, he said.
These arrests are undemocratic, uncivilised and barbaric, the spokesman added. Meanwhile, while addressing a public rally at Trehgam Kupwara ,JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Bhat today said Kashmiris would continue their struggle for independent Kashmir till the goal was achieved.
