Tabinda Gani rape and murder case
HANDWARA – In the 2007 Tabinda Gani rape and murder case, the statement of Investigating Officer of the case Abdul Ahad was recorded on Wednesday before the Principal District and Sessions Judge Kupwara Muhammad Ibrahim.
Pertinently during last hearing, two FSL experts had submitted their forensic opinion before the court regarding the gang rape and murder 13-year-old Tabinda, a class 7 student, at Batpora in Langate Handwara.
The statement of the Investigating Officer is still incomplete and hopefully his statement will be recorded in a complete manner by Thursday. He recorded only half of the statement, Senior Public Prosecutor Ghuam Muhammad Shah told CNS.
The uncle of Tabinda Gani told CNS that he is hopeful that killers and rapists will get what they deserve. “The case is almost over and the witnesses have recorded their statements. We are waiting for the judgement eagerly and hopefully culprits will be punished,” Mohammad Iqbal said.
The case has been listed for next hearing on June 20.
