Srinagar, June 14: Police Friday arrested a store-keeper of Horticulture Department for illegally selling government-supply fertilizers and seized ten bags from his house in North Kashmirs Pattan town.
On specific information regarding black-marketing of government-supply fertilizers, police party from PS Station seized ten bags of fertilizers from the house of a store-keeper Abdul Rahim Shiekh in Zanglam village, said SDPO Pattan adding that the Horticulture department had received government supply of fertilizers to distribute among farmers.
The store-keeper of the department used to sell the supply in black market and after receiving specific information police raided his house and seized ten bags of fertilizers from him, he said.
The store-keeper has been arrested and a case has been registered against him vide FIR number142/2013 under section 109 and 409 of RPC.
SHO Pattan, Mehboob Banday, said investigations have been started and more arrests were expected. We are looking for other persons who are a part of this crime and they will also be booked soon, he said.
