Ganderbal, June 14: Army personnel from High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) Friday thrashed a Sumo driver and some labours while they were on way from Kangan to Sonamarg.
The Sumo driver Mudasir Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Aari Gooripora Kangan said armymen thrashed him and other labours without any provocation. When I resisted they beat me more with gun butts and tore my clothes. They beat every passersby especially drivers, said Dar.
He alleged that Army personnel damaged his sumo (JK16-3677) and smashed its windowpanes.
I have filed a complaint in police station Sonamarag and I hope police will take cognizance of the matter, he said.
