SRINAGAR – At least three youth from south Kashmir’s Shopian have been booked under the controversial Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent to Central Jail Srinagar, officials sources said Tuesday. Javaid Ahmed Malik, Asif Ahmed Bhat, and Zakir Ahmed Mir, all residents of Shopian were slapped with PSA and sent to Srinagar’s Central Jail, they said. The trio were arrested by police from three different villages of Shopian for their alleged hand in unlawful activities.
Scores of youth have been booked under Public Safety Act since the abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August this year.
