Mystic Mantra: Learning Is Never Perfect

“To err is human” goes the old adage. Every moment we live, we make mistakes. Each mistake, in turn, teaches us a lot. The process of learning therefore is eternal. So is the process of making mistake. However, very pertinent question arises here: “Why do we tend to learn?” It is followed by yet another important question: “How do we actually learn?”

Human life is surprisingly bizarre and uncertain. It is filled with whims and fancies. We, as a complex human body, are entirely controlled by our mind. Naturally we are nothing but a beautiful puppet that is delicately strung to the brain. We do what the brain lets us do. Love, emotion, hatred, ethos, pathos and all human feelings get controlled by the brain. It is the biggest power house of instructions that ultimately runs our life.

Yet, we fall victim to many undesirable mistakes in our lives. In the absence of these mistakes, we would not be able to recognize the right path. So, we must be very much alert towards the follies that we make. We fail because we fail to find out and analyze the factors that forced us to the brink of fiasco.

Thomas Alva Edison learnt from nearly one thousand mistakes which he made in an effort of making an electric bulb. At last, his efforts bore the fruit. Would the world have been as lit as today if he had given up the idea of inventing the bulb at his first mistake only? No. Miracle lies hidden in the mistakes we invariably commit. Mistakes spell magic in human life.

Have you ever thought where do we get inspiration to learn anything from? In fact, the insight to learn anything springs from our desire to excel, emanates from our ambition to rise up to the height that the renowned people did scale and, most importantly, the desire to learn arises from our utter need to lead a superb and serene life. We want a miraculous life filled with dignity, distinction and designation. If your desire matches with those of aforesaid purposes of life, do never cease to learn anything valuable for life till you breathe last.

Once Disraeli had said that as a rule the most successful man in life is the man who has the most information. So, information are the weapons that help us to fight against a host of weaknesses that men are born with. And information do not always occur naturally. We need to be in search of it. We need to be vigilant of phenomena that occur in and around our surroundings. In fact, a man’s life itself is an important source of colossal knowledge. Hence, it is very much desirable to always watch follies of the people who surround us. This would significantly prevent us from committing the mistakes that others have done.

A toddler falls down many times in his effort to stand erect, yet he never gives up. Only constant falling drives him to the position where he drowns his fear and stands up to walk by himself. This is what we say we learn most, when we make mistakes most. It is because you have still the chance to correct your mistakes and to learn what is right.

But what is the ultimate motto of learning? Is it confined to better the life of its master only? What about the welfare of society and family? History of the world is witness to the fact that the great people devoted their knowledge, their philosophy and even their lives for the well-being of the mankind across the globe. So, knowledge must be gained essentially for the philanthropic purposes and altruistic mission. What we learn must be used to render much-needed services to the down-trodden segments of the society. Learning must be used to wipe tears of agony, poverty, hunger and thirst from the eyes of the needy and proletariat strata of the society. If we acquire knowledge, learn and gain information with this perspective of life, only then the real enlightenment consummates and which would ultimately bring light to the dark lives of millions of people on this earth.
