SRINAGAR – Court of Justice Ali Muhammad Magray Friday directed National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) and Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) to pay Rs 30 lakh to the family of a little kid who became disable because of the negligence of these two companies.
A five year old kid Atif Irshad Kumhar of MantrigamBandipora sustained serious injuries after he felt electric shock from 33,000 kv transmission line laid by the NHPC and HCC in the area for Kishan Ganga Power Project.
District Medical Board Bandipora in its certificate declared the boy 90% disable as his right hand, left arm and all fingers of a left foot were amputated. The family approached court after NHPC and HCC refused to compensate the boy.
The Counsel for the boy Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak told Kashmir News Trust that the court of Justice Ali Muhammad Magray after admonishing these two companies directed them to pay Rs 30 lakh to the victim’s family by or before December 17, 2019. The Court also directed the top officials of these companies to appear in person on the next date of haring which has been list on December 17 this month.
