SRINAGAR – A shopkeeper was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Mehraj-ud-din, a resident of Tral, was shot at in his shop in Tral area of South Kashmir, a police official said.
The shopkeeper died on the spot, the official added.
Meanwhile, unknown persons torched a shoe-shop in the same town.
Reports said that a shoe shop owned by one Naseer Hasan Khan was set on fire by unidentified persons in Tral.
Sources said that the shop was torched for remaining open during shutdown.
Sources added that police have taken the cognizance of the incident and registered a formal case to investigate the matter. Pertinently, in the same area a medical shop namely ‘Kar Pharmacy’ was set on fire by unknown persons in September this year.
