KISHTWAR: In a shocking fratricide incident, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) trooper shot dead his two colleagues and injured two others at Police Line Kishtawar on Tuesday.
Reports said an SSB soldier, Vijay Kumar resorted to indiscriminate firing from his service rifle at his colleagues wounding three soldiers critically. Another soldier was injured when he tried to overpower Vijay Kumar.
Superintendent of Police, Kishtawar, Kulbir Singh told CNS that two soldiers have died while two others were injured in the shooting. The deceased soldiers have been identified as Narinder Singh and Veer Singh.
The two other injured SSB troopers Ravinder Nath and Habib-ul-Islam are undergoing treatment for bullet injuries at the hospital. Habib got injured when he tried to grab Vijay Kumar who was firing indiscriminately, police said.
Vijay Kumar was immediately detained and is in police custody. The incident, sources said occurred during dead of the night around 2 in the morning.
