SRINAGAR – Three persons were critically injured outside Srinagar airport on Tuesday, when an argument between a Humhama shopkeeper and CRPF personnel over parking issue turned hot and allegedly culminated at thrashing of three shopkeepers by the CRPF personnel, resulting in serious injuries to the shopkeepers.
The injured have been identified as Zahid Ahmed Tantray s/o Gulam Mohammad Tantray, Meelad Ahmed s/o Mohammad Ashraf and Irshad Ahmed Lone s/o Bashir Ahmed Lone.
Sources told CNS that a shopkeeper namely Zahid Ahmed was moving his car towards his shop, situated in Humhama market, outside the airport, when CRPF personnel got irked and allegedly abused the said shopkeeper. Seeing their fellow shopkeeper being abused, other shopkeepers also joined him to resist the misbehaving personnel, resulting in a scuffle between the two sides. At this juncture few more security forces personnel, including a Sub Inspector of CRPF, joined their colleague and thrashed the shopkeepers, resulting in serious injuries to three shopkeepers.
All the three injured shopkeepers were shifted to JVC hospital, where from critically injured two shopkeepers. Zahid Ahmed and Meelad Ahmed were referred to SMHS hospital.
The matter was reported to Humhama Police, which according to sources is investigating the matter. (CNS)
