SRINAGAR: Srinagar Municipalitys food safety officers today seized the stock of mineral water with a brand name Mount Aqua from various suppliers and distributors within the municipal limits.
The SMC had received complaint from some officials working at automobile company, where in large quantity of packaged mineral water bearing trade name as “Mount Aqua” packed and processed by M/S Paradise Valley Mineral Waters P (Ltd) Rangil, Ganderbal was being stocked for drinking purpose by the official staff of the automobile company.
On inspection large quantity of dust particles and particulate matter was found visible to the naked eye in the packaged tank. The team lifted the samples on spot and instantly sent that to food analyst for further study.
Meanwhile SMC commissioner, Dr Qasba has appealed people not to consume the said mineral water till the reports from food analyst are received.
