SRINAGAR: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee has welcomed the ‘unconditional apology’ made by the editor of a local weekly regarding article (Marriages of Faith) which had allegedly hurt religious sentiments of the minority community.
APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said in a statement, “Our community always stood with the majority community during odd times and respected their religious feelings at national and international platforms and expected the same from the majority community.
He said that “if both the communities want to live with peace, displeasing religious sentiments have to be avoided at all cost as such events provide opportunity to anti social agencies to work against the bilateral relation between two communities”.
He further added that heads of all the religious bodies should come forward and not allow any crises by any means. As Kashmiriyat is a unique example of communal harmony and it should be maintained at all costs.
